Protection against cuts from chainsaws
A 100% protection against cuts by manually operated chainsaws can´t be guaranteed with personal protective equipment (PPE). However, experience has shown that it is possible to design personal protective equipment in such a way that a high level of safety can be provided. One of the ways in which safety can be achieved is by the following functional principle: slowing down the chain by using fibres with a high cutting resistance which reduce the chain speed by absorbing kinetic energy. It is important that shoes and trousers overlap. A class 2 cut resistant boot can withstand 24 m/s chain speed.
EQUIPPED FOR ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS
Shoes with GORE-TEX membrane are ideal for many professional applications. They keep feet dry and protected because they are durably waterproof and breathable and therefore offer optimal climate comfort. Thanks to their low insulation, shoes with GORE-TEX Performance Comfort are ideal for outdoor work in normal up to cold temperatures.
Made for extreme situations
Firefighter boots have to endure a lot, which is why the highest quality materials are used. For a high durability and better protection against deterioration and dirt, we use hydrophobic water-resistant cowhide leather. Reflective material ensures that the firefighter’s boots stand out in poor visibility. Our boots are provided with fire-resistant stitching and laces, so that they are fire retardant and fire resistant in case of an emergency. To prevent pressure points from developing during dangerous operations, and to guarantee a high level of wearing comfort at all times, the shaft edge and ankle zones have been provided with soft padding. The fire boots are equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane on the inside, which regulates the climate even in very warm conditions and ensures a balanced climate in the shoe, while still guaranteeing water resistance.
A replaceable combination zipper (with the exception of the slip-on boot) allows the boot to be put on and taken off quickly and adapts optimally to the foot. If the zip is worn-out, it can easily be replaced.
The safety features of the boots also include a steel toecap to protect the toes from falling objects, as heavy equipment can quickly touch the feet during rescue or firefighting operations. The steel midsole ensures the protection of hazards from below in accordance with EN ISO 20345 S3.
The robustly profiled outsole with heel front ensures good grip on ladders and on almost all surfaces. In addition, the wide wear-resistant toecap prevents premature abrasion of the boot. Extreme situations can be overcome with the modern and optimally equipped fire boots of the ELTEN Fire series.
During rain, in the shade, at dusk and in the dark, people wearing dark clothing are only noticed at a distance of 30 metres. Our Firefighter boots with reflective materials provide additional protection through good visibility, even in poor weather and light conditions.
NOMEX® by DuPont™ is a high-performance fibre from a patented mixture of 95% NOMEX® and 5% KEVLAR®, high-performance aramid. NOMEX® offers optimal resistance to flames, heat and chemicals. It is self-extinguishing, does not melt and does not drip. The fire resistance is not affected by cleaning.
Soles for extreme situations
- EXTREMELY DURABLE
Made of rubber (ELTEN POWER) or rubber/PU (Steinau)
- COARSELY PROFILED
The tread depth of 6 millimetres ensures a firm grip on almost any surface and, of course, an excellent grip on ice and snow.
- EXTREMELY HEAT-RESISTANT
Up to approx. 200°C, briefly up to 300°C
- OIL AND FUEL RESISTANT
- EXCELLENT SELF-CLEANING PROPERTIES
The arrangement of the contact surfaces enables the dirt to be removed independently or easily chipped away. This optimises slipping resistance.
- SRC SLIP RESISTANCE
Anti-slip on ceramic tiles with cleaning products and steel floor with glycerine. Under pressure with lubricant, measured on two different surfaces according to DIN EN 13287.
- STEEP FRONT HEEL
Serves as an optimal climbing aid on ladders and thus prevents slipping.
