Employees in logistics need to be flexible because they are constantly on the go. In this respect, they often also move “vertically” – they walk up stairs, they stand on ladders. In addition, they have to operate machinery or move heavy objects. But are they doing it safely? Do they have a firm footing when working on uneven surfaces? And what role do shoes play in this?
Our CROSSWORKER models have been designed precisely to offer their wearers perfect support and a stable walking experience. The centrepiece is the CROSSWORKER sole with its stabilising frame construction, which supports the foot in areas that are subject to heavy loads. At the same time, care has been taken to ensure that the shoes are comfortable and that flexible activities, such as kneeling work or climbing ladders, can be carried out safely and easily.
WITH EXTRA STABILITY
Let’s move on to the sole of our CROSSWORKER series. The special feature is its three-dimensional frame design that optimally embeds the foot and supports it on uneven surfaces. The raised frame elements of the midsole, which look like small wings from the outside, serve as stabilisers that simultaneously protect and provide more support during movement. You might be familiar with something similar from hiking, where the stable sole construction provides a firm footing and helps to guide the foot safely in any situation.
The outsole of our CROSSWORKER shoes likewise deserves a closer look. It also contributes to foot safety, because the sophisticated profiling with the tapered tread lugs prevents you from skidding when pushing off your foot or even when stopping abruptly. For extra grip, the CROSSWORKER outsoles are additionally equipped with a raised heel edge. So if you have to climb ladders at work, for example, you can be sure that you won’t slip off the rungs any time soon. This is because the raised heel allows the foot to virtually hook in when working on the ladder, which would be much more difficult with shoes with a flatter sole.
PERFECT HOLD, MANY APPLICATION POSSIBILITIES
Especially when we are on uncertain terrain, we need stability around the entire foot. This is made possible here by the midsole’s 3D frame construction with the upright polyurethane side elements. In this construction, the sole is slightly raised and the frame creates the optimal structure for the upper, which provides a high degree of stability.
However, we have not placed the emphasis solely on stability: the CROSSWORKER models are available in different versions to meet the various demands at work. We have shoes and boots in the range that are available with the BOA® Fit System for extremely easy fastening. There are also variants with a GORE-TEX lining that allows them to be used in wet work areas, and the safety shoes or boots are equipped with PU toe protection at the front, which prevents premature abrasion of the upper material at the toe of the shoe.
