BOARDS THAT MEAN THE WORLD

TILERS AND FLOOR LAYERS

There is barely any other job that involves quite so much squatting as tiling and flooring. The laying of laminate or carpeting is performed primarily in a kneeling position; the situation is similar with subfloor construction. Therefore, scuff caps protect the upper material in the front area from abrasion caused by the constant load. Depending on the area of application, a safety class rating between S1 and S3 is recommended. When welding elastic coverings such as plastic sheets, it is also advised that you pay attention to heat resistance. Nails left lying around can quickly become a hazard, which is why we also recommend penetration protection. Safety shoes for tilers and floor layers have to endure a lot and protect against various dangers.

SELECTION OF PRODUCTS

ANTI-WEAR

PROTECTIVE SCUFF CAP

Especially if you do a lot of kneeling or squatting activities, there is a risk of wear and tear in the area of the shoe toe after a certain period of time. These can be reduced or even avoided with the help of a toe protector or scuff cap. In the case of toe protection, the material – the so-called upper leather – is securely attached to the shoe. The scuff cap, on the other hand, is moulded directly onto the shoe. TPU is a special form of polyurethane and is particularly robust and effective. Both procedures protect the toe of the shoe against abrasion and extend the life of the shoe.

NO TIRED FEET

WELLMAXX

This is what you deserve on the job: comfortable cushioning when stepping on hard floors, energy recovery when running, protection for ligaments and joints. Working is easier with midsoles made of Infinergy® from BASF. Thanks to the revolutionary sole core made of the innovative, expanded thermoplastic polyurethane, Infinergy®, you will experience a completely new feeling on your feet.

CAUTION: SLIPPING HAZARD

NON-SLIP THANKS TO SRC

If performing activities on smooth floors such as tiles, paving or mosaics, the outsole of a safety shoe must be particularly slip-resistant. This is achieved, for example, by means of small honeycomb structures in the tread. These generate negative pressure and a kind of suction effect. This achieves SRC-rated slip resistance; the highest rating on a three-level scale. SRC means that the sole can even be used on ceramic tiles with cleaning agents and on steel floors with glycerine.

ERGO-ACTIVE FIT CONCEPT

Besides the correct width, other factors contribute to achieving the right fit. In order to address typical problems regarding fit (too wide, too narrow, too short), we have developed the Ergo-Active 2.0 system. We distinguish between three different foot types:

  • Type 1 (for larger feet),
  • Type 2 (for average feet),
  • Type 3 (for narrower feet).

MULTIPLE WIDTH FIT CONCEPT

The feet of craftsmen have to endure a lot – so their shoes have to fit perfectly. That is why we offer some of our models in three different widths:

  • W (For the average width foot)
  • XW (For the wider foot)
  • XXW (For the very wide foot)

The comfortable multi-width system provides each foot with the individual space it requires. Since the toe cap has also “grown” in width, the necessary volume in the forefoot area is maintained.

LADIES FIT CONCEPT

LADIES HAVE A NARROWER FIT

Women’s feet are different to men’s: they are narrower and flatter than those of men with the same shoe size. For this reason, we have special women’s models within our range, which offer appropriate solutions to meet the requirements of female foot anatomy.

INSOLES

Semi-orthopaedic insoles close the gap between the foot profile and the flat bottom of the shoe, thus preventing pain and damage in the knee, foot, and hip area as a result of excessive load. They are light, dynamic, and pleasantly supportive. Feet and lower legs tire more slowly.

WITH ONE TURN

BOA® FIT SYSTEM

The BOA® Fit System allows the safety shoes to be tightened and loosened quickly, safely, and comfortably – with just one hand! The lacing “stays put” all day long, thus ensuring a permanently precise fit. Other benefits include no loose laces hanging down and the fact that the BOA® Fit System is extremely durable – perfect for the harsh conditions of the construction industry.
