THE RIGHT SHOES IN THE FIELD

ROBUST SAFETY SHOES FOR FARMERS

The many different jobs in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry are very power-consuming and physically demanding. All the more important to wear the appropriate footwear at this point. Safety shoes for farmers have to endure a lot. Mud, faeces, urine, bumps, bruises, and nail punctures are to be expected. In addition, they must be universally applicable: On the farm, in the workshop, in the field and cow barn, and in the pig pens. For agricultural and farm work, but also for the daily handling of heavy machinery and vehicles, robust and water-repellent safety shoes are therefore necessary. These should meet particularly high safety requirements to prevent injuries to the foot.

SELECTION OF PRODUCTS

AGAINST WEAR AND TEAR

TPU SCUFF CAP

Whether harvesting grain, mucking out stalls or growing vegetables, the physically tough jobs in agriculture demand a lot from the toecaps of safety footwear. For this reason, a TPU overcap is recommended to permanently protect the toe of the shoe from abrasion.

RUBBER SOLES

Rubber outsoles are particularly robust: resistant to temperatures of up to 300 °C for short periods, resistant to penetration by sharp-edged objects and resistant to petrol, oil, microbes and numerous chemicals. Special manufacturing processes make them abrasion resistant. However, rubber is heavier than PU and TPU and slightly less flexible in cold temperatures.

ROBUST AND HEAT-RESISTANT

WIND AND WEATHER

GORE-TEX

Only shoes that are comfortable for the respective temperature and conditions are really practical. As soon as our feet become too warm, too cold or even wet, we begin to feel uncomfortable. This can affect our health and ability to concentrate. GORE-TEX shoes are permanently waterproof and highly breathable. They keep your feet dry and offer optimum climatic comfort – in all weathers, throughout the entire product life cycle.

NON-SLIP THANKS TO SRC

COMPREHENSIVE SLIP RESISTANCE

If a safety shoe is SRC certified, it means that it has comprehensive slip resistance. An SRC certified safety shoe can be used on ceramic floors (tiles) where water and detergents are used as well as on steel floors where glycerine is used.

ANTI-PERFORATION PROTECTION

In the safety classes S1P or S3, we offer models with a metal-free midsole as well as a steel midsole. Metal-free midsoles have the advantage of covering almost the entire surface of the sole, whereas metal midsoles cover only about 85% of the surface. The metal-free midsole is more flexible, while the metal penetration resists sharper objects. The point, sharpness, and shape of cutting objects play a less important role with metal than with the metal-free counterpart.

WITH ONE TURN

BOA® FIT SYSTEM

The BOA® Fit System allows the safety shoes to be tightened and loosened quickly, safely, and comfortably – with just one hand! The lacing „stays put“ all day long, thus ensuring a permanently precise fit. Other benefits include no loose laces hanging down and the fact that the BOA® Fit System is extremely durable – perfect for the harsh conditions of the construction industry.

ERGO-ACTIVE FIT CONCEPT

Besides the correct width, other factors contribute to achieving the right fit. In order to address typical problems regarding fit (too wide, too narrow, too short), we have developed the Ergo-Active 2.0 system. We distinguish between three different foot types:

  • Type 1 (for larger feet),
  • Type 2 (for average feet),
  • Type 3 (for narrower feet).

MULTIPLE WIDTH FIT CONCEPT

Farmers’ feet have to do a lot – so the shoes should fit perfectly. That is why we offer some of our models in three different widths:

  • W (For the average width foot)
  • XW (For the wider foot)
  • XXW (For the very wide foot)

The comfortable multi-width system provides each foot with the individual space it requires. Since the toe cap has also “grown” in width, the necessary volume in the forefoot area is maintained.

LADIES FIT CONCEPT

LADIES HAVE A NARROWER FIT

Women’s feet are different to men’s: they are narrower and flatter than those of men with the same shoe size. For this reason, we have special women’s models within our range, which offer appropriate solutions to meet the requirements of female foot anatomy.

ORTHOPAEDIC FOOT PROTECTION

CERTIFIED ACCORDING TO EN ISO 20345/20347 (DGUV 112-191)

Many people develop foot problems during the course of their lives. Often it is not necessary to have these conditions treated orthopaedically. If your feet still hurt, our semi-orthopaedic insoles can help. If you develop an orthopaedic condition, special orthopaedic insoles are essential. A large proportion of the ELTEN collection is certified for orthopaedic adjustments in accordance with EN ISO 20345/20347 (DGUV 112-191). The orthopaedic shoemaker / medical supply store can make orthopaedic changes, without the shoe losing its protective function.

ANKLE TWIST PROTECTION

INJURY PREVENTION

More than half of all foot injuries are sprains, dislocations or injuries to the ligaments. BIOMEX PROTECTION© stabilises the ankle in its natural movement and protects it against these hazards.
