RESCUE IS ON HAND
The emergency services are there to help with injury and illness in the event of a crisis. Particularly where there is danger to life or if a similar threat is anticipated. And they operate day and night. Different services are set up for emergency rescue and ambulance operations. Emergency personnel need very specific foot protection here, for example it is vital to avoid injuries from slipping or twisting your ankle and to have protection against chemical or mechanical impacts. Our emergency service boots, such as the FRASER PRO BOA® GTX (available in mid or high designs) have been specifically developed for exactly these applications. They offer complete protection against hazards encountered in the line of duty, and the GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® membrane even protects against pathogens & viruses, which can occur where there is contact with blood or body fluids.
GORE-TEX CROSSTECH®
Most emergency service callouts relate to rescue or medical emergencies (>50%), whereas only very few relate to fire (~5-10%). In other words, frequent contact with blood and body fluids but minimal contact with heat & flames, and yet there is no standard for exposure to viruses & bacteria (EU).
The solution: GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® laminate technology
• Lightweight, durable laminate
• 3-layer construction
• Textile lining that is highly resistant to abrasion
• GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® membrane
• Protective fabric texture
• Guards against pathogens & viruses
FIRE AND FLAME
Firefighter boots need to be highly resilient. That is why the most sophisticated materials are deployed here. In addition to waterproofing, hydrophobic cowhide offers a long service life and enhanced protection against abrasion and dirt. Safety reflectors ensure optimal visibility in poor conditions. Our boots are equipped with fireproof seams and laces to ensure they are flame retardant and resistant to fire in the event of an emergency. To make sure there are no pressure points in high-risk situations and to ensure exceptional comfort at all times, the top of the shaft, ankle, tongue and collar are all softly padded. The firefighter boots are designed with an inner GORE-TEX membrane, which regulates the internal temperature even in very hot conditions, ensuring a balanced temperature profile inside the shoe while still offering guaranteed waterproofing.
A replaceable combination zip (except in the slip-on boots) makes it easy to put the boots on and take them off and adjust the fit to suit each foot. If the zip wears out, it can be replaced.
As an additional safety feature, the boots are equipped with a steel toecap to protect toes from falling objects — this is because heavy equipment can easily pose a risk to feet during salvage or fire-fighting operations. To ensure the necessary puncture resistance in accordance with EN ISO 20345 S3, there is a steel midsole for protection from hazards on the ground.
The chunky tread on the outsole with steeply angled front section helps keep a firm footing on almost any surface and the wide, abrasion-resistant scuff cap offers additional protection against rapid wear and tear to the boot due to abrasion.
REFLECTIVE MATERIAL
In rain or poor visibility, at dusk or dawn and in darkness, people wearing dark clothing only become visible at a distance of around 30 metres. The incorporation of reflective materials offers additional protection thanks to excellent visibility even in adverse weather and lighting conditions.
NOMEX®
NOMEX® by DuPont™ is a high-performance fibre made using a patented blend of 95% NOMEX® and 5% KEVLAR®, a very strong aramid. NOMEX® offers optimal flame resistance, thermal protection and chemical resistance. It is self-extinguishing and does not melt or drip. Its fireproof properties are not impaired by cleaning.
SOLES FOR EXTREME APPLICATIONS
- EXCEPTIONALLY DURABLE
Different high-performance materials, such as RUBBER (STEINAU), RUBBER/PU (e.g. POWER) or PU/PU (SAFETY-GRIP). - DEEP TREAD
The profile depth on each safety boot ensures a secure grip on almost any surface, including specifically for use in ice and snow. - EXTREMELY HEAT-RESISTANT
Up to approx. 200°C, and up to 300°C for short periods. - OIL AND FUEL RESISTANT
- OUTSTANDING SELF-CLEANING PROPERTIES
The design of the profiled tread ensures dirt comes away from the lugs independently or can easily be removed by knocking the boots. This enhances the non-slip properties. - EXCELLENT SLIP RESISTANCE
Outstanding non-slip properties, as demonstrated and certified in the stipulated tests on smooth surfaces with lubricating agents. Meets the requirements in the specified STANDARD for the relevant protection class.
