Place the piece of paper on the floor with the short side directly against the wall.
The child should now stand on the piece of paper wearing socks, with the heels touching the wall and the toes not cramped.
Hold the pencil as vertically as possible and mark the
longest point in front of each foot.
Now use the ruler to measure the distance from the mark furthest in front up to the edge of the piece of paper that was against the wall and note down the corresponding millimetres.
