SOMETIMES THE ONLY WAY TO MOVE FORWARD IS UP A LADDER
In many companies, employees have to work in places that are located higher than others. And how do you reach them? Of course, you use a ladder.
So you’re probably familiar with the following situation: up the ladder, quickly attach a ceiling attachment and back down again. In these situations, you need a secure footing at all times. This applies to tradespeople, painters and varnishers, warehouse workers, but also on construction sites where scaffolders, for example, have to repeatedly climb ladders or scaffolding. In many cases, this also involves various liquids that increase the risk of slipping or mud and dirt that can get stuck in the tread of the soles. This creates additional potential hazards.
THE LADDERGRIP REDUCES RISKS
To prevent slipping on a ladder, it is advisable to wear shoes with Laddergrip, as these allow you to stand firmly on the rungs of a ladder. To avoid accidents when working with and on ladders, you should always play it safe. Incidentally, most fall accidents do not occur from great heights, but from the lowest rungs. This is because people feel safer at low heights and are therefore less careful. Shoes with Laddergrip can reduce the risk of accidents at work and are a useful addition to your personal protective equipment, as they give you a feeling of safety and stability.
The secret of Laddergrip shoes lies in the sole, which is designed to ensure a secure footing on ladders. The DIN EN ISO 20345:2022 standard introduces an additional requirement for this:
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT LADDERGRIP
This additional requirement includes specific design specifications for the use of the shoe on ladders. The heel edge of the outsole must have a height of at least 10 mm and the transverse tread lugs of the sole in the area of the joint must be at least 1.5 mm high. Only when these requirements are met shoes qualify for Laddergrip.
