The Maddox hit a nerve. And it did so in a lasting way. From today’s perspective, we can say that since its launch, it has not only been one of our most popular safety shoes, but also the best-selling safety shoe in ELTEN’s history. Over the past nine years, it has proven itself across a wide range of industries, having been worn, put to the test and recommended to others. Its sporty look has permanently changed the image of safety footwear and shown that protection, comfort and a modern appearance do not have to be mutually exclusive. To this day, the Maddox remains a consistent bestseller, reason enough to treat it to a subtle yet thorough update. Time for a facelift.
New energy for the sole
But don’t worry: Maddox remains Maddox. With our new Wellmaxx Recharged series, we are not introducing a replacement but an additional option. One that builds precisely on where the shoe has demonstrated its greatest strengths over the years and brings those strengths visibly to the forefront. As the name suggests, we’ve recharged our Maddox, at least when it comes to the sole. While the proven upper design remains unchanged, a great deal has happened beneath the surface.
The sole of the Wellmaxx Recharged is clearly inspired by current trends in sports footwear. The design is bolder and more eye-catching. It openly reveals what previously worked behind the scenes. The Infinergy® module, which on the Maddox was only visible from below through a small window in the outsole, now presents itself confidently through side windows in the midsole. The technology is thus not only more noticeable but also becomes part of the design. Comfort is gains visibility, or rather a window.
Less strain on the joints
But this change is far more than a visual statement. The enlarged Infinergy® element covers a larger surface area, supports the foot’s natural rolling motion even more effectively and returns energy in a more targeted way. Anyone who spends many hours standing, walking or constantly on the move will quickly notice that fatigue sets in much later. Pressure is taken off the joints, steps feel more springy, and even long working days lose some of their heaviness.
The series covers a range of areas of application with safety classes S1PS and S3S. In dry indoor environments, the S1PS version really comes into its own. It is lightweight, agile and particularly comfortable for tasks that involve a lot of movement, such as in logistics, production, workshops or retail. For more demanding conditions, Wellmaxx Recharged is also available in safety class S3S, offering additional protection against penetration by sharp objects. Regardless of the model, the 3-millimeter profiled outsole ensures a secure grip. And, of course, the trainer look is retained.
