ON MOTORWAYS OR HIGHWAYS – SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

ROAD WARDENS WORK AROUND THE CLOCK TO ENSURE THIS

Road damage such as ruts or potholes can quickly become dangerous. Road maintenance workers ensure the safety not only of motorists, but also of pedestrians and cyclists. Repairing road markings, pushing snow, or checking road surfaces – the daily routine of a road maintenance worker is varied. For the various tasks, only one safety class comes into question: S3. For work that requires kneeling, a scuff cap is indispensable. Penetration protection and a protective toe cap are standard features as well as a sole with “grip” so as not to lose footing on uneven roads. Shoes with reflectors are also recommended for work at night.

SELECTION OF PRODUCTS

WIND AND WEATHER

GORE-TEX

Only shoes that are comfortable for the respective temperature and conditions are really practical. As soon as our feet become too warm, too cold or even wet, we begin to feel uncomfortable. This can affect our health and ability to concentrate. GORE-TEX shoes are permanently waterproof and highly breathable. They keep your feet dry and offer optimum climatic comfort – in all weathers, throughout the entire product life cycle.

ANKLE TWIST PROTECTION

INJURY PREVENTION

More than half of all foot injuries are sprains, dislocations or injuries to the ligaments. BIOMEX PROTECTION© stabilises the ankle in its natural movement and protects it against these hazards.

ERGO-ACTIVE FIT CONCEPT

Besides the correct width, other factors contribute to achieving the right fit. In order to address typical problems regarding fit (too wide, too narrow, too short), we have developed the Ergo-Active 2.0 system. We distinguish between three different foot types:

  • Type 1 (for larger feet),
  • Type 2 (for average feet),
  • Type 3 (for narrower feet).

MULTIPLE WIDTH FIT CONCEPT

The feet of craftsmen have to endure a lot – so their shoes have to fit perfectly. That is why we offer some of our models in three different widths:

  • W (For the average width foot)
  • XW (For the wider foot)
  • XXW (For the very wide foot)

The comfortable multi-width system provides each foot with the individual space it requires. Since the toe cap has also “grown” in width, the necessary volume in the forefoot area is maintained.

LADIES FIT CONCEPT

LADIES HAVE A NARROWER FIT

Women’s feet are different to men’s: they are narrower and flatter than those of men with the same shoe size. For this reason, we have special women’s models within our range, which offer appropriate solutions to meet the requirements of female foot anatomy.

WITH ONE TURN

BOA® FIT SYSTEM

The BOA® Fit System allows the safety shoes to be tightened and loosened quickly, safely, and comfortably – with just one hand! The lacing “stays put” all day long, thus ensuring a permanently precise fit. Other benefits include no loose laces hanging down and the fact that the BOA® Fit System is extremely durable – perfect for the harsh conditions of the construction industry.

PENETRATION PROTECTION

In the safety classes S1P or S3, we offer models with a metal-free midsole as well as a steel midsole. Metal-free midsoles have the advantage of covering almost the entire surface of the sole, whereas metal midsoles cover only about 85% of the surface. The metal-free midsole is more flexible, while the metal penetration resists sharper objects. The point, sharpness, and shape of cutting objects play a less important role with metal than with the metal-free counterpart.

NO TIRED FEET

WELLMAXX

Construction workers in particular are on their feet for several hours every day. They move around a lot on hard floors, stand for long periods of time, or work in a squatting position. For the feet, this means a heavy load. We prevent this problem with our WELLMAXX series! The innovative Infinergy® cushioning material in the sole core, from BASF, noticeably relieves the feet.

PROTECTION AGAINST WEAR

PROTECTIVE SCUFF CAP

Whether inspecting and maintaining roads, highways and car parks or monitoring green spaces and road structures, the demanding jobs of road maintenance workers demand a lot from the front areas of safety footwear. For this reason, a scuff cap is recommended to permanently protect the toe of the shoe from abrasion.

NON-SLIP THANKS TO SR

BETTER SLIP RESISTANCE

If a safety shoe is SR-certified, it means that it has an overall better slip resistance. An SR certification is received when a safety shoe passes the additional testing on ceramic floors (tiles) where glycerine is used.

RUBBER SOLES

Rubber outsoles are particularly robust: resistant to temperatures of up to 300 °C for short periods, resistant to penetration by sharp-edged objects and resistant to petrol, oil, microbes and numerous chemicals. Special manufacturing processes make them abrasion resistant. However, rubber is heavier than PU and TPU and slightly less flexible in cold temperatures.
